Rule 37 – Change

I don’t think the bowlers in the Cork Zone were the only people to have difficulty with

the wording which was released by the I.I.B.A. Zone Executive re the above rule change.

The following is an update I received on 30thApril, 2018 which will make more sense to all.

So much easier for everybody if the word “EVERY” had been inserted in the first place.

Rule 37 Bowl touching the jack and coming to rest in the ditch

“In singles, pairs triples and fours, if any of the first two bowls delivered by the lead shall

touch the jack and come to rest completely in the ditch, they shall be declared dead and

removed from the mat.  If either bowl so delivered comes to rest intersecting the ditch line

it shall be marked as a toucher.”

“Where the former Law 37 covered the last end and extra end, the change in wording means

that the Law now applies to EVERY end.”

THAT’S ALL FOR THIS WEEK
