NEWS SHEET MON. 16th OCTOBER, 2017.
Storm Ophelia moves on and we are still picking up the pieces – electricity,
water and phones are still on the blink for some people. Sorry that I was
not able to send out the news sheet yesterday due to not having electricity.
Douglas Community School Hall made the headlines by having its roof
blown off – part of which landed in the garden of Liam & Mona Lynch DCS bowlers.
I am sure that other clubs will accommodate D.C.S. by reversing fixtures etc.,
until their hall is back in commission. It is hard to believe that the storm
had such an impact.
Well done to all those who travelled & competed in this year’s Champion
of Champions Competition held at Shaw’s Bridge, Belfast . Best of the Cork
Zone competitors were the Crosshaven Team of Mary Middleton, Grainne Murphy,
Keith Middleton & Conor Middleton who were beaten in the Semi Final of the
Open Fours Competition. Next year may see silverware coming to Cork.
